DR. NICHOLE BOGAROSH

Dr. Nichole Bogarosh is the director of the Center for Student Involvement and Student Media at Gonzaga University, an adjunct professor of Communication Studies at Whitworth University (where she previously worked as a full-time associate professor, director of Women's and Gender Studies, and advisor for the student-led public realtions agency, Beyond the Pines), cultural and media studies scholar, and a freelance strategic communication professional specializing in writing/editing and event management. Her research work focuses on the representation of marginalized groups in media, particularly in popular culture, and issues related to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging.

In addition to her volunteer work with Spark, where, in addition to her Board service, she served as the interim executive director from August 2024-January 2025 during a time of transition, Nichole serves on the Board of the Northwest Alliance for Media Literacy and is an active volunteer for many film festivals, such as the local Spokane International Film Festival and the Bentonville Film Festival, hosted by the Gena Davis Insititute on Gender in Media.
